What is Comedogenic Rating?
Comedogenic rating is a scale that shows how likely a specific ingredient can clog your pores (i.e. cause Acne, Pimples & Blackheads). The scale ranges from a number in between 0 – 5, with 0 being non-comedogenic and 5 being the most severely comedogenic
Allergy Test
When trying out a new Essential Oil perform a ‘Patch Test’ to determine how your skin is reacts to it.
Simple steps for conducting a Patch Test
- Clean the area behind of the ears with water
- Pat dry
- Rub a few drops of diluted essential oil into a small patch behind your ears
- Leave it for 12 hours
If the skin patch is red, itchy, blistering, or swollen, you have had an adverse reaction to the oil and should discontinue use.
